About Scylla

As a child, the mythical and magical world fascinated Scylla Kairos so much so that she spent much of her time pretending she was a mermaid saving damsels in distress. Of course, there were no damsels present, so she had to make do with saving her little brother at every opportunity. Lucky for her he was a good sport most of the time, but when he didn’t want to be saved, Scylla liked to pretend she was a witch who could turn him into a toad. As she got older, she leaned into that passion, using it as an escape when she struggled with managing her mental health. This led her to becoming a writer specializing in the fantasy genre, featuring mental health disorders and a bit of romance. Her work features LGBTQIA characters who battle a wide variety of mental health disorders, all while trying to survive their vicious magical worlds.

Scylla’s passion for mental health has often left her wishing she was a witch with powers and a magic wand that she could wave and either cure all mental health disorders or make everyone understand the toll they take on a person. Unfortunately for Scylla, her only means of magic lie in her pen, and she wields it with chaotic energy. When Scylla isn’t busy dreaming up fantasy worlds and living vicariously through her characters, she’s busy hanging out at her home in WI with her witchy wife, their two minions of darkness and chaos (the kiddos), and their familiars, Joey their feisty feline and Nymeria and Cersei their canines.
